Engineering company success in the National Apprentice
Awards 2009 (England)
Summary
Engineering and manufacturing companies across England are
celebrating success at the recent National Apprentice Awards.
Tube Lines Ltd in London was named the Large Employer of the Year,
with Bentley Motors and Princess Yachts International Highly
Commended in this category. BT won the Macro Employer of the
Year, and Rolls-Royce and Sellafield Highly Commended. In the
Medium Employer of the Year, Berthon Boat Company triumphed, with
Kesslers International Ltd Highly Commended. Both the Highly
Commended Advanced Apprentices were from engineering backgrounds –
Wayne Manton and Michael Crowe.
Other apprentices from sectors as diverse as Vehicle
Maintenance, Sport, and Retail won awards in the individual
categories.
The National Apprentice Awards celebrate the achievements of
apprentices and employers across England. It is run by the
National Apprenticeships Service. The 2009 awards saw over
1,000 entrants, representing individuals and companies from
counties across all of England. For more information on the
