Chris Roberts - Chief Operating Officer, Skills Funding

After a number of years working in the private sector Chris
worked as a Director for both Newcastle City Council and
subsequently as Executive Director of North Tyneside Council.
Joining the Learning and Skills Council in 2001 he was the
Executive Director for Tyne and Wear and later became Regional
Director for the North East. Over the last year, Chris has assisted
with the changes to the LSC and formation of the Skills Funding
Agency (SFA) by both working as the Chief Operating officer and
Interim National Director of Skills.
From 1 April 2010 he will be National Executive Director (north)
covering responsibility for the North West, North East, Yorkshire
and the Humber skills delivery and take lead responsibility for key
national sectors and ensuring that the National Skills Strategy is
delivered.
